Bathroom and Kitchen Refit in Kargıcak
Two bathrooms and a kitchen, 42 m² in total. Rebuilt with full tanking so there is no risk of leaking through to the floor below.
Scope
Two bathrooms on the ground and first floors of a villa, plus the kitchen. We checked the screed under the existing tiles before removing them; the upstairs bathroom screed was damp and we waited three days for it to dry.
What we did
- Full tanking in both bathrooms, taken to 180 cm up the wall in the shower areas
- Concealed pipework renewed; nothing was closed up before a pressure test
- Large-format tiling with 2 mm joints
- New supply line under the kitchen worktop, worktop refitted
- Extractor fans added to both bathrooms
Why the fans mattered
Summer humidity in Alanya is high and mould in bathrooms is very common in holiday flats that stand closed. Both bathrooms had poor natural ventilation, so we fitted humidity-sensing fans that run even when the owners are away.
